What We Know About the New Electric Chevy Silverado
Chevy released many Silverado EV details today, and they're impressive to say the least. It will run solely on electric power with electric motors in the front and rear, which means that each truck will have 4WD. Those motors combine for up to 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque, and this new Chevy electric truck should get up to 400 miles on a full charge. The Chevy Silverado EV will come on GM's Ultium EV Platform, which has the battery as part of the structure for an optimized electric driving range.
This new electric truck offers a lot of capability as it has up to 10,000 pounds of towing and a 1,300-pound max payload capacity. There are many other innovative features in this electric Silverado. It has an Automatic Adaptive Air Suspension, Super Cruise, and a large screen for the infotainment system that doesn't fell in your way. Other highlights range from standard DC fast-charging to 10.2kW of onboard power for using tools, lights, or other items you need to plug in.
