There are two engine choices for our Monticello customers to think about. Both of them have displacements of 6.6 liters, so they're quite sizable. The gas-powered V8 can make up to 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the Duramax turbodiesel V8 can provide you with up to 445 horsepower and an amazing 910 pound-feet of torque.

The turbodiesel gets paired with an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, while the standard gas engine is matched to a six-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission. With the proper equipment in place, the Silverado 2500 can tow up to 18,510 pounds. You'll have the freedom to bring your work equipment, boat, jet skis or any other type of gear with you.

Technology

Once you get inside the cabin of the Silverado 2500, you'll notice all the high-tech components. Directly in front of the driver's seat is a digital instrument cluster. The lower trims have 3.5-inch displays, the middle trims feature 4.2-inch displays, and the nicest models have 8.0-inch displays. Regardless of the size, this display can give you important information about how your truck is doing.

In addition, every new Silverado 2500 provides Lafayette drivers with a touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay^®, Android Auto^™ and Bluetooth^®. This touchscreen can measure seven or eight inches; this would depend on the trim. SiriusXM^® is an option that would expand your entertainment choices, and navigation is also available. It can be very convenient to have a map built into your touchscreen so that you can quickly find out where you are and what turn to take next.

Interior and Exterior Features

The inside of the Chevy Silverado 2500 can be nicely appointed. The cabin can come with a ten-way power-adjustable driver's seat that has power lumbar support. The front passenger seat can also be power-adjustable, and both front seats can be heated. The back seat can feature a small compartment underneath it. This storage area can be helpful when you have smaller items that you'd like to keep out of the way. Other available amenities include an auto-dimming rearview mirror and leather upholstery.

The outside of the Silverado 2500 can look quite nice, as well. 20-inch wheels are optional, as are black or chrome accents. The cargo bed can come upgraded with LED lighting and a spray-on bedliner to enhance durability. To make it easier to access your bed, the truck comes standard with a CornerStep rear bumper. The Work Truck, or WT, is equipped to handle tough situations throughout the Frankfort area. The LT, Custom and LTZ have more convenient features and nicer components inside their cabins.
